Color Blocking and Alexander Wang

Its Friday already!

Where did this week go?  Well, I hope you either enjoyed this week or got a lot accomplished.  Or both.

Today’s question:

What is one thing you’ve always wanted to try but never had the courage?

For me, I’d have to say scuba diving.  I tried to do this once and never made it out of the training pool.  It felt like I was going to drown and ain’t nobody got time for that.  Here’s the thing: I’m a pretty adventurous person so to not be able to do this, I felt like a wimp.  A failure of sorts.

I wish I could tell you that this story ended with me triumphantly overcoming my fear by becoming a certified scuba diver.  Instead, I don’t care if I ever see a scuba mask AGAIN! – LOL  But I did learn a lesson: I thought I had failed because the outcome wasn’t successful.  But in fact, I was successful for at least trying something new.

Now on to the fashion….

I promised I’d post some outfits from our recent cruise.  Today’s outfit is inspired by the art of color blocking.

Headshot gray

The crisp yellow color of these gorgeous Alexander Wang strappy closed toe pumps really makes a statement and the focal point of this ensemble

Alexander Wang shoes

This peplum sleeveless tunic top from Bebe can be styled to be more dressy by pairing it with a pencil skirt or slacks.  However, I chose to dress it down by accompanying it with simple black shorts from Express

I found this snakeskin multicolored handbag at http://www.ebigbuddha.com.  It’s fun to have a crazy colored handbag in your closet sometimes and this one doesn’t disappoint.  Shoes and Bag

I hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Have a wonderful weekend and remember: Dress Fierce, Be Creative and Help Someone.

Big hugs and thanks for reading!
