Hi Guys and Happy Friday!
I am excited for this weekend. We have lots of family things planned. My son is performing in a jazz band around a big bonfire. I love when the kids perform. What are your weekend plans? Anything fun or exciting? I want to hear!!!
Life can come at us fast. In fact, it usually always does. There’s seldom time to get caught up on the things we need to do like grocery shopping, getting the car fixed, paying the bills, driving the kids back and forth to their activities, etc., let alone finding the time to do the things we want to do for fun. On top of that, we have to find time to nurture the relationships with the people in our lives like our husbands, kids, boyfriends or significant other, sisters, girlfriends, etc. And don’t even get me started on the things we need to do for ourselves that require even more time (that we don’t have) like working out, meditation, reading, prayer, eating right, etc.
It can be stressful at times. So what is the best way to handle all this stuff? How are you supposed to do all these things (sometimes on a daily basis) and yet still keep your sanity?
There’s really no super easy way, but the most effective way that I have found is to approach all of this with a management style similar to what a CEO might use. I call it “Life Management”. In other words, if you take a company that has various departments and each of those departments have separate responsibilities, but they all have to work together for the greater good of the business; they have to be managed by someone who oversees it all. There are meetings to set tasks that need to be done, deadlines that have to be established, responsibilities that need to be delegated and the list goes on and on.
I think of life as one big business. I try to treat it that way so I can maximize my success. You should too. Even if you are a stay home mom, you will want to be on a schedule, you should try and have a weekly plan and daily goals. Even if you are a full time student, you should think about having a clearly laid out list of classes you need to take to get the degree you want, you should have a schedule to help you manage your course load with some “fun time” mixed in so you don’t burn yourself out.
All of this falls under management. Learning how to manage your life is not intuitive, at least not for me, wanna know why…???? Because no one ever teaches you how to do this! Ever. Not in school, not at home, no where. Sure, you might learn bits and pieces, here and there. But no one fully explains it to you so you see the bigger picture. At least no one ever taught it to me.
I had to learn this over many years of reading tons and tons of books and talking with people way smarter and successful than myself. And even still to this day, I’m learning stuff. When my life gets to be overwhelming, I step back and ask myself “which areas of my life could use better management” weather its time management, financial management, relationship management. Yes, I said relationship management. All relationships must be managed too! I could go on and on about these topics, but I don’t want to bore you. Let me know if you want to learn more about this and if it can help you in your life. I can draft something up and give it away as a free download or something. I guess I’m a little passionate about this because I have seen the remarkable difference this technique has made in my life especially when I am managing things properly, versus when I free style it.
Again, if you want to know more, let me know.
Now on to the outfit of the day….
Have you ever wanted to give yourself permission to wear something completely different than what you normally wear and not be judgmental about it? Welcome to my world, every day! LOL. This outfit is a perfect example of something I rounded up at Love Culture and just went with it!
When I first saw these shorts I was like Oh my gosh! Their feminine and sexy but also they reminded me of Big Bird, minus the yellow. I had to have them!
I went looking for a top with a burst of color and when I saw this peach colored tank top with the built in pearl necklace, I knew it was perfect. I love how its simple but the built in collared necklace takes it to another level adding sophistication and elegance.
This was a Hibachi style Japanese Restaurant (my daughter’s favorite). SO the Chef asked me to come up and he was going to show me how to cook. I think he got a little shocked when I surprised him by double flipping the spatula like they do during their show. His reaction below. It was funny because everybody was cheering and yelling “whoa”!!! Don’t let my feathered mini shorts fool ya now – LOL I can cook!
Well I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post. Have a fabulous weekend and I’ll see you back here this Monday with a brand new video from my “Ask Diamond” Series.
As always, thanks for reading!
