Happy Memorial Monday!
This has been another working weekend for me, but what can I say, I absolutely love what I do. As I mentioned in a previous post, one of the projects I have been working on is converting a spare bedroom into a dressing room. Fashion is a huge part of my life and having a closet that’s both functional and organized is key to my productivity. I’m still working on it but let me know if you’d like to see pictures or a quick video tour when I’m done. Leave a comment for me so I will know.

Today’s topic:
Past mistakes
So if your like me, you have made a TON of mistakes in life. Honestly, I don’t think you have really lived an exciting life unless you have made a lot of mistakes. Some mistakes are bigger than others, I get that. But what I really want to share with you is this: your past does not define you. Yes, its there and those things happened, but they are not who you are today. I know a lot of people who have made some terrible choices in life and have picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and are a much happier and more well rounded person because of it.
If you can learn one thing from a bad decision you made in your life, than guess what: its not a mistake. Its a learning experience. I love that God has given us the ability to be forgiven and we can take charge of our life right here, right now today. I will share a story with you. Years ago, when I was young and dumb, I fell in love with someone (my first love) who was no good for me. Haven’t we all experienced that – my God! Yes we have. Anyway, I beat myself up for choosing this guy until one day I stopped and realized something. I have NEVER dated anyone like that ever again. I love myself so much more today because of that very relationship. Meaning, it was the crap and dysfunction of that experience that woke me up to the fact that I deserved better and I needed to learn to love myself more. Wow! Looking back, I should have actually thanked him. I guess the universe thanks him everyday by continuing to give me the joy that I have experienced in my life since then.
So no matter what situation you found yourself in before, or no matter what bad decision you may be making today, just remember that tomorrow you get another chance. You get another brand new opportunity to turn things around in your life and start fresh. For that, we can all be thankful.
Now, on to the fashion…..
I love playing with different textures. This Bebe printed top is soft and romantic and great for brunch or afternoon tea. This leather jacket is rugged and sophisticated at the same time. Together, these two add interest and dimension to this outfit.
The detail in this Roberto Cavalli jacket are exquisite. Each stitch was hand done and it shows
Plum and blue really work well together. Both are strong colors and compliment each other nicely.

30 May 2013I wouldn’t think much of any one piece you are wearing alone, but WOW when you put them together like that it creates and amazing outfit!!

27 May 2013Geez ya I would love love to see your finished closet. After looking at all your outfits and accessories I will probably be dreaming about it tonight lol. I can’t get over the detail in the jacket. That is hours and hours of work… That will hopefully be in a museum someday many many years from now 🙂
