Polka dots and pearls

Happy Wednesday Girls!

Okay, so I am super excited because I am almost finished with my new closet project.  It has always been a dream of mine to have a HUGE walk in closet where I could put all my clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories – all in one place.  I mean the kind of closet that is so fabulous, you just don’t want to ever leave.  I am almost done and I think its going to be pretty spectacular.  Leave me a comment if you’d like to see a picture.

Today’s Topic:

Looking for acceptance

I know it seems crazy but I think on some level, we all need to feel that we have the approval of those closest to us.  We want to know that they think we are good and special and lovable.  But what happens when the people we love and look up to ( like our family or close friends) don’t give us that acceptance?  In fact, what happens if they are just the opposite, meaning, they are hyper critical of everything we do?  Do you have people in your family or close friendships like this?  You almost feel like you are walking on eggshells to please them.

This is a sucky feeling and can really chip away at your self worth if you don’t get it in check.  Its easy to let these thoughts run away in your head and make you feel less than.  I am telling you that you are special, you are good and you are loveable regardless if anyone tells you or not.  How do I know?  Because we are all born as a precious gift from God.  That’s right.  It is your God given right to be loved and cherished.  If you look up and find that you are always being criticized, always being put down, always being made to feel like you’re not good enough – then you have to get the hell away (or at least put some distance) from those people making you feel like this.  No one can make you feel inferior unless you give them permission.

You deserve to be happy!

Now, on to today’s outfit:

There is something about polka dots that make me feel like a little girl all over again.  They are youthful and playful and I love it.

I paired this pearl necklace with the floating flower to enhance what was already a perfectly feminine piece

This is my “What you talkin’ about Willis” face – LOL.  For you young ones, that’s a famous line from the show Different Strokes.  That was one of my favorite shows back in the day.  I think all the actors died – not at one time, mind you because that would be traumatic.  Although I think Willis (Todd Bridges) is still alive.  Why am I talking about this.  Back to fashion…. Geesh

These orange capri’s add an amazing pop of color.  I don’t get to wear these Jimmy Choo slip on’s very often because let’s face it, the colors are only for spring and summer, they don’t go with many outfits and they’re not super comfy.  But who cares!  Their Jimmy Choo people!  Get your head back in the fashion game!

Okay, if you couldn’t tell I’m super pumped up.  I don’t want to end this post because I want to keep talking to you.  But I must get back to work.  I hope you enjoyed this post.  And until the next time, Dress Fierce, Be Creative and Inspire Someone!

Big Hugs and thanks for reading

  1. Love the red pants with the blue polka dot shirt. You could wear that to work or play!
