Its Wednesday and life is good. Today’s topic is: COMPLAINING
Have you ever been around someone who complains a lot? I have. Its draining and annoying at the same time. We all want to be a sounding board for someone who is having a bad day, but some people take complaining to a whole new level. You know the kind of people I’m talking about. The kind that if they complained of being broke and you gave them ten million dollars, they’d complain about how hard it was to manage such a large sum of money all at once – these kind of people!
I have to admit that I too have found myself doing this sometimes and its ugly. Its a nasty little trap that we can fall into if we are not careful. The danger of complaining is that it is a joy killer. That’s right-it steals your happiness right out from under you. You see, when you complain you are focusing on what’s not going right in your world. Little by little this negativity takes over and here’s the tricky part…you don’t even realize when this happens. The next thing you know, you are having feelings of depression or sadness.
So what can you do to stop complaining? The kryptonite (I think that’s how you spell it – ask Superman, I don’t know) for complaining is gratitude. When you start saying what you are thankful for in your life, the complaining dies down. You don’t even have to stop complaining, just start verbally saying how thankful you are for every little blessing in your life and poof – complaining is gone. Its like magic! Wanna know why – because complaining and gratitude can’t share the same space. When one comes, the other has to go.
Kinda like Clark Kent and Superman! Oh my Gosh, I just thought of that. I’m a genius. A nerdy one.
Now, on to the fashion….
Today’s outfit is inspired by the need to feel nautical. I started out with white denim cropped jeans from Bebe (similar ones here) For interest, I added this red and white polka dot corset style top (similar one here)
Polka dots are one of the girliest designs you can add to an outfit – and I love them (similar ones here). I didn’t want to be too matchy so I paired this blue cropped blazer from Forever 21 (similar one here) to break up the pattern and introduce another bold color.
Statement necklaces are my thing. I felt like this bold outfit needed bold accessories. This one came from Francesca’s Collections (Similar one here)
This Alice bag from Versace gave the perfect touch – Found here
Blue patent leather pumps are by Guess but similar ones here
Enjoy the rest of your week. Until the next time, Dress Fierce, Be Creative and Help Someone!
