Neutral and Delicate:: Structured skirt with snakeskin heels

Happy Friday!

I really hope you had a great week.  I spent some quality time with my family this week and it was long over due.  For some reason, it seems like Life somehow always gets in the way and it becomes harder and harder to spend quality time with the people I love.  I am working on that.

Today’s Topic:

Self Doubt

I have a great idea.  I’m so excited to share it with the world.  Maybe I’ll blog about it.  No, wait, I’ll do a video on it, that’s better.  I just feel it in my bones that people can truly benefit from this.  Then…..I can feel it creeping up on me.  Everyone: meet Self Doubt.  She’s a nasty little unwanted guest who pops in whenever she feels like it.  What if they don’t like it?  What if people laugh at it?  What if its one big waste of my time.  Uuuuhhhh I want to scream!  (out of frustration, not excitement).

Why do we doubt ourselves so much?  What is it within us that makes us second guess everything from the way we dress, to the way come across to others, to are we good enough?  Its awful.  Its ugly but we all do it.  There’s a few things that can ward off self doubt and one of them is to first, recognize when you are doing it.  Next, analyze why you are doing it?  Meaning, what is going on in your life and around you that you don’t feel you are capable of being the best.  And lastly, drown out those negative thoughts by reading something positive.  Talking to a friend who can boost your mood.  If you can, get out a piece of paper and write down all the wonderful things about yourself.  Then read it out loud.  And if all else fails, try this last thing.  It really does work, I promise.

Get out a glass and pour yourself a glass of wine (and if you’re under age, ice cream works too.) Listen to some funky music and dance.  Dance like no one’s watching and drop it low if you have to.  My point is shake things up a bit and don’t stay in that place of self doubt.  She’s not welcome in your life ANYMORE!

Now, on to the fashion….

Today’s outfit is very business like.  I can go to an office (but I’m not).  I can go to court (Thank God I don’t have to) or I can go to an event at my kids school (but school is over with).  So I am just wearing this because….because I can.  No seriously, this is the kind of outfit that can be somewhat conservative but also fashionable.

I love fashion because through your wardrobe, you can be a new and different person each day.  Some days I feel more serious than others.  Some days I feel flirty and other days I feel super creative and those are the funnest days to catch up with me.  You never know what I’ll be wearing (and neither do I).

These Michael Kors snakeskin and gold medal pumps are both edgy and comfortable.  I really should wear these more often.
