Mint Green Lace and Levian Aquamarine Fantasy

Happy Wednesday Girls!

For those of you who don’t know me, I read a lot.  Its probably one of my favorite things to do when I have some down time.  My genre that I most enjoy is personal development.  Who knew – LOL.  What I find so interesting and cool is that I can read a decent size 200 page book in a weekend and learn everything that it may have taken the author a lifetime to learn. That’s why I try and push my kids to read and you should too.

Did you know that self confidence is a muscle?  I recently learned that if you are lacking self confidence in a certain area of your life, you can build your confidence very similar to how you build up a muscle.  Let’s say you are shy and you don’t have many friends.  Maybe this is a result of you not being sure about yourself.  Or perhaps you feel insecure as to weather other people will like you or not.  Here’s what you do: find a small function or party that you can attend.  That’s right, just go.  Literally force yourself out of your comfort zone.  Once your there, get yourself a drink and act like you belong there.  Walk around with your head held high and pretend you are meeting friends.  I know it sounds ridiculous but I’m sure you’ve heard the term “fake it till you make it” right?  Who knows, maybe you’ll even work up enough courage to start up a conversation with someone.  And who cares if you don’t like them or they don’t like you, this is an exercise!  And lets face it, you don’t have to see them ever again if you don’t want to.

Here’s the cool part though:When you get back home, I promise you that you will have more confidence in this area than when you left home.  The next time you start having doubts about yourself, you will remember how bold and brave you were to push yourself out of your comfort zone.  All this builds your self confidence muscle and it actually becomes easier and easier to put yourself put yourself out there.  Pretty soon, you won’t care what others think of you because you will realize that everybody has an opinion and you will NEVER be able to please everyone anyway so go and live your life and have fun!

Now on to the fashion….

If fashion was ice cream, I’d eat this mint green laced top in one bite.  It’s delicate color screams touch me, feel me, wear me fool! And so I obeyed.

When I was at NY Fashion Week this past fall, they were showcasing the trends for Spring 2013.  These beautiful pastel colors were in almost every designer’s show.

Full outfit

I embellished this mint green laced top from H&M with a very simple gold belt.  The pattern in the top was almost damask like so I wanted to keep the belt to a minimum.  Sometimes less is more.  Except when it comes to jewelry – LOL which brings me to my next picture

Levian Aquamarine JewelryOkay, breathe!  That’s what I said to myself when I first saw this Levian Aquamarine necklace.  Then I saw the matching earrings and it was like heaven opened up and said “Diamond, you deserve this and so much more”  I don’t know about you, but when Heaven speaks, I listen.  Then I realized it was just the jeweler trying to make his quota, darn.  Oh well, it worked.  Its delicious!

Black Channel Handbag

As if the jewelry wasn’t decadent enough, here comes the patent leather Channel handbag.  I only have one Channel bag in my closet and here she is.  I chose this handbag because the outfit was delicate and I wanted to balance it with a bold but yet classic look.

Top and Handbag

Well I hope you enjoyed today’s message and the outfit that inspired it all.  I feel like a million bucks today and I want the same for you.  Take a risk, try something outside your comfort zone and write to me.  I’d love to hear what you did!

Until the next time…Be Fashionable, Be Creative and Help Someone!
