What a beautiful day is it. I felt a little under the weather yesterday, but I’m back today. Nothing makes you appreciate your health more than when you are sick. Whoa Nelly. Anyway, lets get right in to it shall we….
I’m sure you have heard of the term “Burn Out”. Its when you are doing too much of something and you start to feel overwhelmed. You get burned out and need a break. Well, there is something far more dangerous than burn out. It called rust out. Rust out is when we stop making the choices that keep life alive. Its the feeling of numbness that comes from always taking the safe route, never accepting challenges. Continually surrendering to the day to day routine.
Rust out means we are no longer growing, but at best, simply maintaining. It implies that we have traded the sensation of living life to the fullest for the security of a paycheck. Rust out is the opposite of burnout. Burnout is overdoing whereas rust out is underbeing.
Are you suffering from rust out? If so, get up and go make a list of some things you have always wanted to try, but never had the time or money or motivation to do so. Once you make a list, you will slowly start to find a way to make those things happen.
You may have remembered a few posts ago, I mentioned that I made a summer “to do” list. I actually wrote out my list. Some of the stuff on there was far reaching, but it made me step out of my normal daily routine even if it was just on paper. One of the things on that list was to attend an outdoor concert. I had this vision of sitting on a picnic blanket, eating juicy watermelon and looking up to the stars – all while hearing the thumping sounds of instruments playing in the distance. In my mind, I hadn’t planned it all out yet, but I just wanted it so I simply wrote it down.
I can’t prove it to you scientifically, because I’m not a Scientist, duh.. (If I was, I’d be the total package -LOL) But the universe has a way of knowing when you are serious about something and it actually makes a way for you to have what you desire.
That said, guess who got invited to an outdoor concert next week! Me!!! I wasn’t even expecting it. And it just happened. It prompted me to think about my summer “to do” list and how at the time I made this list, I had no idea how I was going to plan or make these things happen. This is the power of writing things down. Seriously, if your not happy with ANY area of your life, make a list of what you can do to make yourself happy. Don’t worry about the HOW right now. Just make the list. Send me a quick note and I’ll help you. FOR FREE! Now whats better than that!
Now, on to the fashion…
Today’s outfit is fun and I’m all about fun. I love bright colors and funky prints so when I saw this dress, it was like the perfect fashion storm.
This is a bike rack. No bike handy. But I have a cool dress. Does that count?
Its fun to experiment with fashion. I guess I am somewhat of a scientist afterall. A Fashiontist
Well I gotta run. Have a great day and as always, thank you so much for reading!
