Spring Floral Pantsuit

Happy Monday girls!

I hope you had a great weekend. I attended a pretty amazing retreat this weekend at church.  Its called “Encounters” Its an eye opening experience that helps you to realize God’s awesome power.  It helps you to peel back the layers in your past that may have caused you great pain and to learn how to heal from it.  Additionally, many people have walked away realizing what their true purpose in life is.  Powerful stuff.

Today’s topic:

Being a quitter

I had a conversation with my son this weekend and he informed me that he wants to quit playing tennis.  Now, before I go any further, let me tell you that my son loved tennis.  He begged me to sign him up for private lessons, for weekend clinics, and a personal coach.  So here I am – I have been driving him back and forth to all these lessons, paying for all of it and today he decides he wants to quit.

In his mind, he has a good reason.  He’d rather pursue something else.  I get it.  I’ve been there.  So I told him what most loving and supportive mothers would say.  “Hell no, your not quitting tennis!  I’m not raising any quitters!”

I explained to him that I understand how he is feeling.  I know that he must be feeling tired of it.  I know that it has become monotonous and he probably feels it is boring at times.  I know that the passion for it may have passed.  But I told him those are exactly the reasons why you can’t quit.  You see, no matter what you pursue that is fun to you in the beginning, eventually you will hit a wall.  Eventually you will grow tired of it and probably want to quit.  Marriage is like that, your career will be like that and life can be like that.  But you have to push through these temporary moments of “not feeling like it” and continue showing up.  I explained to him that if I waited till “I felt like doing something”, I’d probably never get anything done.  You can’t let your feelings drive your success or you won’t be very successful at anything.  Its not easy being a parent, is it?

Now, on to the fashion…

A short time ago, I took a cruise.  I have two outfits left that I wanted to share with you.  Here’s the first one.  It is a floral pant suit I picked up while I was in Turkey last year.  It epitomizes girlyness.  Its soft feminine texture and floral pattern are dreamy and delicate.

This is a great outfit to wear to brunch, or a coffee date.  Anything really.  The fashion in Turkey is unbelievable.  I’d love to go back just for the shopping alone.
