Well I wish I could say that I’m all caught up on my rest but I’m not. This past weekend was long and exciting. As promised, I wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to lately. Some of you know that I recently flew to Cali to attend a pretty amazing conference for Industry Experts. Basically this is an annual conference for Authors, Speakers and people who are an expert in their field. I met so many wonderful people including Motivational Speaker,Les Brown (Books include “You’ve got to be hungry”, “Live your Dreams”, and many other Best Selling books) Author Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul Series), and so many other great folks. I’m not name dropping by any means. In fact, the only reason I’m mentioning who I met is because I want to share with you some of what Les talked about at this conference.
Someone to believe in you
Les told a story about how when he was a young boy, all the kids at school would pick on him because he had a speech impediment. He was a twin and since his brother was smart, they would call Les, “DT” -for Dumb Twin. He had no self esteem. Like none whatsoever. He hated going to school because he constantly was made fun of. And then one day, one of his teachers asked him to solve a problem on the black board. Les said I’m sorry I can’t do that. The teacher asked him why. He said because I’m the Dumb Twin and he hung his head in shame as he told the teacher. It was at this time that the teacher told him that he is no different than anyone else and basically the Teacher proceeded to tell Les how much he believed in him.
Les never forgot that. He continued to do well in school and thrive because this particular teacher believed in him, even when he didn’t believe in himself. A few years later, Les went back to the teacher to thank him for changing his life. He asked the Teacher what he could ever do to re-pay him. The Teacher said, you really want to repay me? Go pay it forward and teach people how to believe in themselves. The rest is history. Les has done so many amazing things with his life and if you’ve never heard him speak, I included something for you below. Check it out and let me know what you think. I hope to inspire people like this one day.
Now on to my outfit of the day…
Today is all about high fashion glamor. This outfit is what I wore to my Girlfriend Erica’s beautiful wedding. I love wearing my Levian Couture pieces because well, its Levian what can I say.
These are probably my most coveted pair of shoes in my closet. I literally think of them as a work of art. I guess they kind of are in a way because you can’t really buy these shoes unless maybe after market. I tried to Google them, can’t find em. They don’t make them anymore. They are Christian Louboutin studded pumps. I have a shoegasm every time I put them on!
Okay this pic tries, but its hard to do justice to this delicious necklace. Its out of this fucking world. Yes I cursed. Not bragging, just incredibly in love.
It was a little chilly and I needed something elegant (but not too over done) to compliment my look. I decided on this Fendi cashmere and fur scarf to keep me warm. Till Erica Stole it! Love you girl!
Well I hope you enjoyed today’s post. I really enjoy writing about fashion, but I also love to talk about life. The ups and downs and the things that lift us up as human beings. I have so much love in my heart for every single girl reading my blog. I hope to inspire you in some small way. Weather its with the fashion or the topics I write about.
Thank you so much for reading!
