Houndstooth and Red Peplum

Happy Wednesday Girls!

Well I hope you are having a great week so far.  Here’s something you may not know about me.  I am a closet perfectionist.  What I mean by that is I will assert myself to the degree necessary for something to be just right, but I don’t make a big deal of it.  I haven’t been blogging for long at all and let me tell you, its been really challenging at times.  I have been painstakingly learning how to take great pictures, then how to resize them in a software program, and next, how to upload everything to another program so everyone can enjoy it online.  Whew, its exhausting and because of my nature to want things perfect, sometimes it takes me hours (one time up to 4 hours) to do just one blog post.  Big Sigh.

Blogging has also been very rewarding for me as well.  Style and fashion are something that I love, but inspiring women to reach their full potential is like icing on a very delicious cake.  I truly believe that we all have something great inside of us that needs to get out.  Some kind of unique talent or skill that, not only would we enjoy doing it, but someone else could really benefit from us sharing it with them.

Have you ever put some thought into what you might be really good at?  We have to keep pushing, keep trying to find out what that is.  I think you owe it to yourself to really try.  Otherwise, you will never know.

Now, on to the fashion….

Today’s outfit was inspired by this red peplum skirt from Bebe. Its bright red color commands attention.  It needed a companion equally as strong so this black and white chunky houndstooth top fit the bill.

Full Outfit

I broke up the red in the skirt and the busy pattern in the top by adding a simple, but elegant black patent leather belt for dimension.

There’s nothing simple about this necklace but once again, this is a bold ensemble and this particular piece added flare and more dimension to balance things out.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post.  Thank you for being on this fashion/personal development journey with me.  Please be sure to leave a comment and tell me what you like or didn’t like about this outfit.

Until the next time, Dress Fierce, Be Creative and Help Someone.
