60’s Fashion for Women

Happy Friday Girls!

I hope you had an amazing week.  Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?  I will be working on a few projects which I hope I can get complete before the end of the weekend.  The other day I was coaching someone through an issue that I think we all have suffered from at one point or another…

Today’s topic: Being too nice

Have you ever found yourself trying to please people in your family, at your office, or even your friends – all at an unhealthy cost to yourself?  Listen, I like to make people happy too, especially my family and friends.  But I have to tell you, sometimes you really do have to say NO.  We have been taught somewhere along the line that saying no is a bad thing.  Its not.  Learning how to mange people’s expectations around you is one of the most important skills you can learn.

If you don’t learn that its okay to say no, then you will over obligate yourself by over promising and then under delivering.  And when you do that, people get pissed, and rightfully so.  The next time someone calls you and catches you off guard by asking you for a favor, if your not sure weather to say yes or no, always say this: let me think about it and get back to you.  You can buy yourself a little more time to really assess if this new commitment will fit into your schedule.  And if it doesn’t what will you say?  You will say NO!  (in a nice way of course) LOL

Now, on to the fashion….

I love the 60’s!! I like the 70’s too, but the fashion of the 60’s has a more refined, sleek, geometric and  sophisticated sexiness about it.  Today’s outfit was inspired by all of that.

Uh oh, somebody’s lookin for a good book…..

This 3/4 length sleeved tunic dress by Armani Exchange feels soft and feminine.  To balance out the 60’s theme I was going for, I paired it with these CL Laundry black patent leather boots.  They are the perfect combination of sleek and funky.

  2. This was an amazing topic today! I often find that I always say yes, even when I shouldn’t, which leads people to see me as a doormat, lol. All your topics really make me think and I thank you for that!
